Sept 18th 08. This was the start of a long awaited move for the boys to Portland, Or. We'd got to SLC thursday afternoon, and the boys were loading Kevins apt. Got to bed abt 10 pm, we stayed at Henry's place. Abt 2.30 am Jared called and couldn't sleep so he picked us up and off we went to Portland. Penske is a nice truck all 26 ft of it. We traveled abt 5 hrs in the dark, but these tree farms interested us. We made it to their new apts abt 5.pm. Unloaded beds, we stayed at Kevins, and Jared had Mindy at their home. We had a great 5 days there. We went to the Falls 611 ft. Very beautiful, was raining on and off, would like to go back and take the trail linking the falls together someday. Went to downtown Portland and took the river walk, it was fun to see the tankers and the cute little tug boats. Tuesday we went to Tillamook cheese factory and went to the sea, toured the Cape Meares Lighthouse and played at the beach. Jared and Jake took their shoes off and ran from the waves, alittle to cold for us growups. I was amazed all the moss everywhere, as you can see the tree is covered. We went on the Mt Hood scenic drive and saw this baby elk. A man was trying to get it to go back to the woods but it wouldn't budge. We had a great time visiting and being with everyone. We'd like to thank Jared he put alot of time into finding interesting things for us to do.Thanks to Kev and Sabrina and Julie and of course those beautiful grandchildren, Jacob, Lucie and Little Kaleb, we Love you all......
