The driveway project. A couple of months ago Loren and Mel started the project. Using a pick and shovel due to the hardness of the ground, they went down 6 inches and piles of dirt started to form on the basketball court. They sifted the dirt to seperate the rock to be reused. Mel wanted to use the concrete pieces to make the driveway. After alot of debate they decided to pour concrete instead. So the concrete slabs and sand are now in the back yard waiting to replace the wood walkway.

at 7:15 am the cement arrived. Wayne K., Ron E.
Mel and Loren were ready. The cement truck drive was a big help. At the end Wayne and Loren hauled the last two wheelbarrows of cement
So new driveway is 17' wide at
the gargage and 8' wide at the street
and 41' long. So with the decision to pour concrete they only had to go 4"
down. After more thought Mel decided to just go 91/2 ft near the garage, so there will need to finish off
that small part near the chainlink.
All and all it took 5 yds of
cement. Saturday Sept 10th

at 7:15 am the cement arrived. Wayne K., Ron E.
Mel and Loren were ready. The cement truck drive was a big help. At the end Wayne and Loren hauled the last two wheelbarrows of cement
to pour near the house. Wayne tipped over his wheelbarrow and Loren thought he could do better
and tipped his too. The driver,Ron and Mel laughed so hard their ribs hurt. Mel offered the driver a tip he said he hadn't laughed and had a good time in a while that was tip enough. Also a thanks to Wilford H. for lending us all the tools. Thanks to Loren who did most of the really heavy and hard work.
