4th of July

Dad and I got away from the heat and went to Cedar City for the weekend. We went to the Iron Mission Museum. It was pretty interesting. It had this remake of the Overland stage that you could get in, lots of horse drawn wagons, outside exhibits on how to make bricks, sawmill, sheering sheep. Also gave history of the local parks.

Then we went to the Rock church which was built in 1931. All the woodwork inside is cedar and beautifully done. The baptismal font is also brick, but we could only look thru the cracks of the doors to see it. The next day we went up to Cedar Mtn. Navaho Lake is the fullest we have ever seen. Not much space to go fishing the water is right up against the banks. Found a few fields of flowers .
It was a good getaway. Need to have more of them.
